Trail Highlights The Fourche Mountain Trail offers breathtaking views of Fourche Mountain and Buck
Knob. Points of interest include an abandoned silver mine, beautiful streams in steep ravines, several spectacular views of the Ouachita Mountains, rock glades, and uncommon
plant life. This trail network provides horseback riding, day hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and ATV opportunities. Day use parking is
available on the south side of Hwy 270 along the old Hwy.
Surrounding Area Camp, swim or picnic at the Mill Creek Recreation Area located north of Highway 270. There are small stream fishing opportunities
upstream and downstream of the Mill Creek Recreation Area.
Site Amenities Drinking Water, and bathrooms available at the Mill Creek Recreation Area.
Local User Input Mill Creek is a great place to camp. This facility does not get the heavy use as the recreation areas near Lake Ouachita. A large swim area is a welcome
relief during the hot summer rides. Lots of trails from moderately challenging to very challenging. You can take the trails clear up to the Ouachita Trail and make a return
loop. The descent from Buck Knob is one wild ride. Don't forget to check out the little one mile interpretive loop on the north side of Mill Creek across from the
